Reusing the same photo across 2 or more places on Google Maps is never OK.
Even seasoned Google Maps photographers can be seen making this mistake.
This is the entrance to both the Norwegian embassy in Copenhagen and the entrance of a Law firm. Hence it seems logical to upload this image to both the embassy and the law firm. No No No. This would be a violation of Google's Guidelines.
Here the two 2 narrow storefronts fit nice in one shot. Actually, it is difficult to take a photo of one of them without the other. Uploading this image to both Goldsmith Blæsild & Ring and B'india would be a mistake.
This is the official entrance to 6 different businesses. If you are unaware of all the guidelines it could seem logical to upload this photo to each of the 6 businesses. But is is not what Google wants us to do.
Google moderator MoniV wrote, "Sharing the same photo more than once on one location or across multiple locations is a violation of our rules and policies and may result in your removal from the program."
And this is from the Community policy:
"Dark, blurry, and redundant photos will be removed. Users who duplicate photos across locations, or post images that infringe on copyrights, will also be removed."
No doubt, Google does not want us to share our photos to more than one place on Google Maps. You just need to know and remember this.
Find links to the official documents here. Scroll down and open 5: Never the same pic to more places.
There are no fancy tips on how you can solve this. One workaround though is always taking extra shots for each place on Google Maps. And I can't deny having cropped an image or two into two different images and posted them to nearby places. But this is only an option if your camera has sufficient resolution.
